Weather
The best time to visit Zimbabwe is usually during April to May or in August to September when it is dry and warm. The rainy season takes place from November to March, and it is hot and dry from September to October. Night-time temperatures can fall below freezing. Visitors are advised to bring light- to medium-weight clothing, with warmer items for evenings. Waterproofs will be needed during the rainy season.
Festivals
The Zimbabwe Agricultural Society Show is hosted in Harare during August, and the capital also hosts the Harare Summer Jazz Festival over August and September. Independence Day is celebrated on 18 April, whilst Africa Unity Day takes place in May.
