Food & Drink
Central Asian dishes such as plov (mutton, yellow turnip and rice) and shashlyk (charcoal grilled mutton kebabs) served with raw onions and flat bread are commonly eaten in Uzbekistan. Samosas are sold on street stalls, and a number of restaurants serve European and Korean food.
Green tea is the staple drink, and although alcohol is less popular than in the West, it is widely available. Wine is relatively popular, with the city of Samarkand having its own winery.
