Local Media

All Uruguayan newspapers are in Spanish; there are no English-language papers. Papers include the daily El Pais, El Observador, El Telegrafo, La Republica and Ultimas Noticias, and the weekly Brecha and Busqueda.

Television is provided by the government-owned TV Nacional Uruguay, along with other channels such as Monte Carlo TV Canal 4, Saeta TV Canal 10, Teledoce and TV Ciudad.

The government also operates a radio network (Radiodifusion Nacional SODRE); other stations are provided by AM Libre, Radio Carve, Radio El Espectador, Radio Montecarlo and Radio Sarandi.
