Local Media
There are a number of English-language newspapers available in Uganda, including the Financial Times, The Monitor, Guide, New Vision (state-owned) and The Star. There are also some papers published in the local vernacular, such as Bukedde (Ganda), Etop (Teso), Rupiny (Acoli ) and Orumiri (Nyankole, Chiga, Nyoro and Tooro).
The Uganda Broadcasting Corporation operates UBC TV, and there are also some private television broadcasters, such as East Africa TV, Pulse TV, Nation TV (NTV) and WBS.
The BBC World Service is widely available on FM, and Radio France Internationale broadcasts on FM in Kampala. UBC also operates 5 radio stations including the commercial Star FM, which is broadcast in English and vernacular languages. There are also many private radio stations, such as:

- Central Broadcasting Service (CBS) (operated by Buganda Kingdom)
- City FM (operated by ruling National Resistance Movement)
