Culture & Etiquette

Handshaking is a common form of greeting in Taiwan. Life here is still very Chinese, traditional and adhering to old values where ancient customs, holidays and festivals are celebrated.

Casual clothing is accepted. Entertaining is normally done in restaurants, not at home.

It is not customary to tip taxi drivers, but a 10% service charge is normally added at hotels and restaurants.
