Syria Times is published daily in English, whilst local-language papers include Al-Baath, Al-Thawra and Tishrin.

The state operates a television service known as Syrian TV, which broadcasts domestic channels and a satellite service in Arabic, English and French. It also runs a radio station , known as Syrian Arab Republic Radio. The country's first private radio station, Al-Madina FM was launched in March 2005.
