There are a number of newspapers published in English and Afrikaans, including the following:

SABC is the state broadcaster, which operates three national TV networks and two pay-TV channels. Other television broadcasters include M-Net (pay-TV with a pan-African audience) and e.tv (a free-to-air commercial network).

SABC also operates 20 regional and national radio services in 11 languages, including:

5 FM (contemporary music station)
Lesedi FM (Sesotho station)
Radio Sonder Grense (national Afrikaans station)
SAfm (national English-language network)
Ukhozi FM (national Zulu station)

Other broadcasters include 702 Talk Radio (a Johannesburg commercial news and talk station) and YFM (a popular Johannesburg commercial hip-hop, soul and R&B station).
