Local Media

Anglo Portuguese Nesys (Lisbon) and The News (Algarve) are the two English-language newspapers. Local-language papers include Correio da Manha, Diario de Noticias, Jornal de Noticias, Publico and the weekly Expresso.

Public TV services are operated by RTP (Rádio e Televisão de Portugal), which operates two domestic channels and external services RTP Africa and RTP Internacional. Portugal also has a number of commercial television operators, such as SIC (Sociedade Independente de Comunicação), Portugal's third terrestrial television station. SIC also operates several other channels carried on satellite and cable TV in Portugal such as SIC Notícias (news), SIC Radical (youth), SIC Mulher (women) and an international channel, SIC Internacional, which broadcasts in Europe, Africa, South America, North America, and Australia. Other commercial operators include TVI (Televisão Independente), Portugal's fourth terrestrial television channel and TV Cabo, the country's main pay-TV operator.

RDP (Radiodifusão Portuguesa, a subsidiary of RTP) provides public radio programming, with three national networks, regional and external services. Commercial stations include Radio Clube Portugues, Radio Comercial, TSF and the church-run Radio Renascenca.
