Getting There & Getting About

International Airports

Internal Transport

There are internal flights from Seeb airport to both Salalah and Khasab.

There are roads connecting Muscat to Sohor and other major towns in Oman, and there are also good roads to neighbouring states. Car hire is available from international firms, which have offices at hotels throughout the country. However, drivers should wary when driving at night, keeping all windows closed and doors locked. Other dangers of driving at night include the risk of hitting camels that stray on the roads outside Muscat.

There is a network of modern, air-conditioned buses serving Muscat and north Oman, with long-distance routes including the towns of Ruwi (Muscat), Bahla, Abudhabi, Nizwa, Buraimi and Salalah.

Taxis are also available, and are generally much cheaper than those found in other Gulf countries. Fares should be agreed in advance.
