Internal Transport
Although there are flights from Pyongyang, Kiliju, Chongjin, Kaesong, Hamhung, Kanggye, Wonsan and Sinuiju, foreigners are not permitted to use them.
There is a slow passenger rail service from Pyongyang to Sinuiju, Haeju and Chongjin. Timetables are not published.
There are some good quality roads, many of them dual carriageways. However, international driving licences are not accepted anyone wanting to drive within the country must sit a local driving test and obtain a local licence. There are very few road signs. All roads leading out of Pyongyang have police security checkpoints requiring identification.
There are no buses between cities, although Pyongyang has a two-line metro and regular bus services for travel within the capital itself.
