Local Media
There are numerous English-language papers available in Nigeria, including the government dailies New Nigerian and Daily Times, along with privately owned daily papers such as The Guardian, This Day, The Champion and Vanguard. There are also some weekly news magazines, such as Newswatch and Tell.
The state-run Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) operates national and regional television stations, and there are a number of other commercial broadcasters including:
- AIT (broadcasts in Lagos and Abuja and via satellite)
- Channels TV
- Degue Broadcasting Network (DBN)
- Galaxy TV (serves western Nigeria)
- Minaj TV (serves eastern Nigeria)
The state-run Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) operates 'Radio Nigeria' stations in Abuja, Enugu, Ibadan, Kaduna and Lagos.
