Local Media

There are a number of daily newspapers published in English, including The Namibian and The Windhoek Advertiser. Other English papers include the weekly Windhoek Observer and the twice weekly New Era. Allgemeine Zeitung is a daily German-language paper, whilst Die Republikein is published in Afrikaans.

Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) is the national state broadcaster for both television and radio. There is also a privately-owned TV station in Windhoek (Desert TV) and a range of international TV channels are available via satellite and cable. Radio stations include Radio France Internationale (available on FM in the capital), Radio Energy, Radio Kudu, Radio Wave, Radio 99, Katutura Community Radio (KCR) and Channel 7.
