Good Time to Visit
Weather
Mozambique is at its hottest and wettest from October to March. However, the climate varies according to area, with temperatures rising towards the coast, and rainfall increasing with altitude. From April to September, the coast has warm, mainly dry weather tempered by sea breezes. (More information can be found in Climate in Mozambique).
Visitors are advised to bring tropical lightweights, with warmer clothing for evenings. Waterproofs are recommended all year round.
Festivals
Public holidays include National Day (Independence Day) on 25 June and Women's Day on 7 April. Good Friday and Easter Monday are other important holidays, while Maputo has a public holiday on 10 November.
