Culture & Etiquette
Many of the courtesies and modes of address customary in Portugal and other Latin countries are still observed in Mozambique. Shaking hands is the customary form of greeting.
Casualwear is acceptable and formal dress is seldom required.
Visitors are advised against taking photographs of military personnel, airports, bridges or government/public buildings, as this is illegal. Only photos of beaches and other tourist sites may be taken. It is also courteous to ask permission before taking pictures of locals.
