Climate
The Principality of Monaco is noted for its sunny Mediterranean climate with mild, wet winters and hot, dry summers moderated by the proximity of the Mediterranean.
In the capital, Monaco-Ville (elevation 55 m), average temperatures are at their lowest in January at 10°C (with a minimum of 9°C and a maximum of 12°C), and their highest in July and August, at 24°C (with a minimum of 22°C and a maximum of 26°C). Rainfall averages from 2 to 12 cm a month, with the greatest amounts falling between October and December (10 cm a month or more), with the least (less than 4 cm) falling between June and August. Rainfall the rest of the year is about 6 cm a month.
Between November and march, the city receives 4 or 5 hours of sunshine a day; sunlight hours reach their peak in July and August, with 9 hours per day. Humidity is at its lowest between October and February (67 to 72%), rising to a high of 74-77% between March and September.
