Culture & Etiquette
Few Moldovans speak English, and so a knowledge of Russian or Romanian is very useful. In general, young Moldovans support developing closer ties with Europe rather than with Russia.
Dress should be casual but conservative. For official engagements, men should wear a jacket and tie.
There are frequent police checks, and so visitors should carry a copy of identification documents (passport) with them at all times.
Visitors should avoid taking photos of military and government (including airports, power stations and so on) facilities in Moldova - and especially in the Transnistrian region.
