Local Media

There are a number of English-language newspapers available in Malawi, including:

• The Daily Times
• The Monitor (daily)
• The Nation (daily)
• The Malawi News (weekly)

Although there is one state-run television channel, TVM, (Television Malawi), radio is the major source of information for many Malawians. Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) is the state-run radio service, which operates the national networks Radio One and Radio Two. BBC World Service is also available on FM in Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu. Other radio stations include:

• Capital Radio
• FM 101
• MIJ FM (Blantyre-based)
• Radio Maria (Catholic station)
• Zodiac Broadcasting Station (ZBS)
