Internal Transport

There are no internal flights available in Lebanon. Ports are served by coastal passenger ferries.

As public transport is limited, roads (especially in Beirut) can be over-congested. Other drivers can be quite unpredictable, and although speed limit signs and traffic lights are present, they may not always be respected. Self-drive cars are available; however, chauffeur-driven vehicles are usually a better choice. Its worth bearing in mind that petrol is very expensive in Lebanon.

Taxis are most common way to travel within and between towns. Inter-city taxis are usually shared, and prices should be agreed on in advance. Town taxis have an official tariff, and there is usually a surcharge after 10 pm. Many hotels also offer complimentary bus and other transport services.
