Internal Transport

Kuwait has a good road network between cities, although driving can be somewhat hazardous at times. Car hire is available. There is a cheap and reliable inter-city bus service, and dhows and other small craft may be chartered for trips to the offshore islands.

Share-taxis are available, and private taxis (recognisable by their red licence plates) may also be hired by the day. It is advisable to book taxis in advance by telephone from a reputable taxi company, as hailing vehicles from the road is not recommended. Taxis from hotel ranks tend to be slightly more expensive than other taxis. Tipping is not expected.
