Local Media
There are a number of English-language dailies, including Daily Nation, Kenya's best-selling newspaper, and widely regarded as being independent and balanced. Other papers include:
- The People Daily
- East African Standard (privately-owned daily)
- East African (English-language weekly)
- Kenya Times (daily Kanu party paper)
- Taifa Leo (Swahili-language daily)
The state-run Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) broadcasts television channels in English and Swahili and a number of other broadcasters also run TV stations, such as:
- Citizen TV
- Family TV
- Kenya Television Network (available in Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Eldoret and Kisumu)
- Nation TV
- Stella TV (STV)
KBC also broadcasts radio services in English, Swahili and 15 other indigenous languages. There are many other radio stations available in Kenya; for example:
- Capital FM (music-based)
- Coro FM (Kikuyu-language station in Nairobi operated by KBC)
- East FM (targeting Nairobi's Asian listeners)
- Easy FM (relays in Nairobi, Eldoret, Kisumu, Mombasa, Nakuru and Nyeri)
- Kameme FM (targeting Kikuyu speakers in Nairobi and central highlands)
- Kiss FM (music-based)
- Metro FM (music-based station operated by KBC)
- Rehema Radio (Eldoret-based station broadcasting programmes in Kalenjin)
