You should be aware of offending Muslim sensitivities; make sure that you observe Muslim dress codes.

Social courtesies remain formal:

• do not use the left hand
• avoid pointing
• do not touch food until you are invited to by the host
• do not display affection publicly (especially kissing), although touching members of the same sex in conversation is fine and common

Locals are polite and generous and courteous to those they like and are respected by. Make sure that you smile.
