The Republic of Iceland is a country in northwestern Europe, comprising the large volcanic island of Iceland and its outlying islets in the northern Atlantic Ocean between Greenland, Norway, Scotland, Ireland, and the Faroe Islands. It is a well-named territory, as over 11% of the country is covered by glaciers.

Reykjavik is the largest city and capital, and where the vast majority of visitors spend all their time. Reykjavik is often hailed as one of the best clubbing cities on earth with fantastic bars, clubs and hotels such as the world famous Ice Hotel. In addition to big city activities there is plenty more to do in Iceland. The wintery scenery is spectacular and trips to glaciers and active volcanoes are very popular with tourists, as are geothermally heated pools and spas.
