Newspapers are published in Spanish and include dailies such as elPeriodico, La Hora, Prensa Libre and Siglo Veintiuno.

There are a number of commercial television stations including Canal 3 Radio-TV Guatemala, Canal 5 TV Cultural y Educativa, Teleonce, Televisiete and Trecevision.

La Voz de Guatemala is the government owned radio station; private commercial stations include Radio Sonora (news and talk), Radio Continental, Emisoras Unidas de Guatemala, Radio Panamericana, Radio Nuevo Mundo and Radio Cultural TGN, which broadcasts in Spanish, English and indigenous languages.
