Grenadian specialities include:

  • seafood with vegetables
  • calaloo soup
  • crabs
  • lambi (conches)
  • avocado ice-cream
  • oil down (a combination of breadfruit, coconut milk, tumeric and a strong flavoured protein, such as saltfish, smoked herring, pickled pork or chicken)
  • rice and peas
  • titiri (shoals of baby fish cooked as fishcakes or served curried with rice)

The local rum and beer is excellent and is called Carib.
