Climate
Gabon has a moist, hot climate typical of tropical regions. From June to September, there is high humidity but little no rain, whilst from October to May rainfall is heavy. This excessive rainfall is caused as a result of the condensation of moist air as the cold South Polar Current meets the warm Guinea Current directly off the coast.
In the capital (Libreville), the rainfall during the rainy season can reach up to 45 cm per month, with heavier rain further north on the coast. The temperature varies only slightly throughout the year, maintaining a daily average of 26.6°C (80°F).
