Local Media

There are no English-language homegrown papers, but both UK and American newspapers are available, and Helsingin Sanomat (the Helsinki daily) has some English-language pages. Local-language papers include:

Yleisradio Oy (YLE), the public broadcaster operates several television and radio channels in Finnish, Swedish and Sa'mi (Lappish), along with the external service Radio Finland. Private television broadcasters include Nelonen (Channel 4) and MTV3. There are a number of commercial radio stations, such as Classic FM, NRJ, Radio Nova and The Voice.
