Hot all year. The rainy season is from May to October. (For more details, check out Climate in the Central African Republic). Visitors are advised to bring linens and tropical waterproof clothing.

Festivals

The Central African Republic (CAR) celebrates all the Christian festivals, and in the north, all the Muslim ones (dates vary). Tabaski, or Id al Kabir, is the most important celebration in northern central Africa. It also coincides with the end of the pilgrimage to Mecca. Independence Day is celebrated on 13 August.
