Local Media

International papers are available in Belgium, as is the English-language magazine The Bulletin. In addition, there are many local-language papers, including:

  • De Morgen (Dutch)

  • La Libre Belgique (French)
  • Le Soir (French)
  • Grenz-Echo (German)

The French-language public broadcaster is RTBF (Radio Télévision Belge de la Communauté Française), which operates the television channels RTBF 1, RTBF 2 and an international satellite channel, along with radio stations such as La Premiere, Radio 21, and the external service RTBF International. Other French-language broadcasters include RTL (Radio Télévision Luxembourg).

VRT (Vlaamse Radio- en Televisieomroep) is the Dutch-language public broadcaster based in Flanders, which offers TV services such as Een (one) and radio stations Radio 1, Studio Brussel (known as StuBru) and the external service Radio Vlaanderen International (RVI). Other Dutch-language broadcasters include VTM and VT4 (television) and VRT (radio).

BRF (Belgischer Rundfunk) is the public service broadcaster for the German-speaking communities of Wallonia in Belgium. It produces one television channel (BRF-TV) and three radio stations (BRF1, BRF2 and BRF-DLF).
