The Republic of Armenia is a landlocked mountainous country in Eurasia between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, located in the Southern Caucasus. A former part of the Soviet Union, it is bounded to the north by Georgia; to the east by Azerbaijan; to the south by Iran; to the south-west by the Nakhchivan exclave of Azerbaijan; and to the west by Turkey.

One of its most popular attractions is Sevana Lich (Lake Sevan), which is the largest lake in the Lesser Caucasus mountain range.
