Good Time to Visit
Weather
Winters in Andorra are cold but dry and sunny, and summers (May to September) are temperate and warm. The lowest average monthly rainfall is 3.4 cm in January; the midsummer months are slightly drier than spring and autumn.
Visitors are advised to bring lightweight clothing for the summer and warm mediumweights during winter. Rainwear is recommended throughout the year.
Festivals
Between July and September most Andorran settlements will have a village festival; where locals come together to mark their heritage with music, dancing, wine and feasts. The capital has a three day festival, beginning on the first Saturday in August. Mare de Deu de Meritxell, the national festival of the Virgin Mary, is celebrated on 8 September with a pilgrimage to Meritxell, situated 7 km to the northeast.
