Local Media

The Kabul Times and Kabul Weekly are English-language pages, with local language newspapers including the government-sponsored Hewad and Anis, and the Northern Alliance weekly Payam-e Mojahed.

The state broadcaster National Radio-TV Afghanistan (NRTA) operates National Television Afghanistan; there are many other private TV stations, such as Afghan TV, Aina TV, Tolo TV and Ariana TV. Local stations include Herat Province TV and Balkh Province TV.

National Radio-TV Afghanistan (NRTA) also runs Radio Afghanistan, and BBC World Service is available on FM and mediumwave (AM). Private radio stations include Arman FM (in Kabul and other cities), Radio Killid (in Kabul and Heart), Radio Heart, and Azad Afghan Radio (in Kandahar).
