Founded: 1555; women undergraduates first admitted 1979.

Admission: Undergraduates not admitted for archaeology & anthropology, biological sciences, computation, earth sciences, european & middle eastern languages, fine art, geography, human sciences, music, experimental psychology, oriental studies, PPP.

Scholarships: College exhibitions based on academic achievement after first year; scholarships awarded for final year. Designated college for Jardine Scholars from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Japan and Bermuda; also one scholarship for a Canadian undergraduate following a science course.

Travel grants: Travelling bursaries including one for a finalist (£1700); special fund for classical studies; college funds for academically approved projects.

Library & IT facilities: Combined arts, science and law library open 24 hours. Separate IT services. Ratio workstations to students 1:20. Every room has point with access to library and internet. IT support from computer manager in normal working hours plus JCR computer reps.

Eating arrangements: All meals can be taken in hall.

Gate/guest hours: Gate keys issued to college members.

Other college facilities: Computer room, beer cellar, music society (organ, 2 pianos), squash court, gym, boathouse, playing fields and pavilion; spacious lawns and gardens.

Accommodation: Almost all undergraduates (100% of first and second years) accommodated if they wish, in college or in student block about a mile away. Most charged £669 per term. No first degree students live at home.

Term-time work: No outside employment permitted in term time; some in college (library, archives, gardens, kitchens).
