Founded: 1886; undergraduates first admitted 1955.
Admission: Submitted work and interview (pre or post A-level candidates). Undergraduates not accepted for economics & management, modern languages, biological sciences, chemistry, medicine.
Largest fields of study: English, engineering, geography, history, law, maths, PPE, physics, theology. Scholarships: Scholarships and exhibitions awarded at any stage of an undergraduate's course in recognition of high academic standards. Also a number of college prizes.
Travel grants: 2 travel scholarships.
Library & IT facilities: First floor of main building is a study suite, with main, law and theology libraries and computer room, open to all students 24hrs/day. Computer room with 12 UNIX clients, 7 PC in the libraries (for essay writing); further 27 ethernet points in libraries for student laptops. Ethernet points in all student rooms on site and in annex.
Eating arrangements: All meals available in hall, Monday-Saturday and evening meal on Sundays. Cooking facilities in all college houses and on some staircases.
Gate/guest hours: Unrestricted gate hours; some guest restrictions.

All rooms self-catering, or meals in college hall from £7 per day. Some students live in privately owned accommodation for 1 year, £65-80 pw for self-catering.
