Accommodation: Plenty within walking distance; check local press, noticeboards.

Eating: Meal for £3 on campus. Half price meals at Indian restaurants; student discounts in some others.

Drinking: £2 a pint in SU bar. 300+ pubs and some sophisticated bars, many with student nights. Adnams good local brew.

Nightlife: Parties, karaoke, bingo, quiz nights. Several good clubs around Norwich, many funk, hip hop, drum and bass and Indie nights; bands include Le Tetsuo, The Porn, Neutrinos. Excellent film choice at Cinema City; good theatre.

Locals: Very friendly (compared to London).

Sports: Aqua Park, 20 minutes bus ride from city; local yoga classes for instant stress relief.

Financial help: Limited access funds; also college emergency loans.

Jobs: Many bar jobs, telesales, waiter/essing - standard pay.

Annual living costs: The minimum amount students say you need to live on each year (covering all living expenses but excluding tuition fees) is £5000 in private accommodation.

Best features: Small and intimate; beautiful, old buildings; the diversity.

Worst features: The diversity.
